|This panorama taken at Rupp Arena by Christopher Gjevre, features the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team playing to a sellout crowd. Opening in 1976, this off-campus arena is the largest ever built for basketball. Its unique design consists of bleachers in the upper bowl, without luxury suites or a center-mounted scoreboard. It seats 23,500, frequently packing in over 24,000 fans with a student standing-room area called the “eRUPPtion Zone.” This intimidating venue consistently ranks first in home game attendance.
